Overview of National Water Hygiene
The National Water Hygiene (blue card) scheme ensures the protection of public health and promotes good water hygiene practices. The scheme was developed in collaboration with all UK water companies and is a requirement for access onto clean water sites or ‘Restricted Operations’. Sites include work on service reservoirs, water pumping stations, water treatment works, wells, springs, boreholes and work on the network of water mains and service pipes.
On completion of the National Water Hygiene training and assessment, candidates will understand the importance in playing a part in maintaining clean and safe drinking water and protecting public health.
